I recently bought a few Ribba picture frames from Ikea (size 25 x 25 cm (10 x 10 inches)) because the square format with the matting was exactly what I was looking for. However, I’m having trouble hanging the pictures: each frame comes with two metal eyelets that you can attach on the sides, through which you can thread a wire; so far, so good. But when I hang the wire on a nail, the picture tilts forward away from the wall. This means the bottom edge of the frame touches the wall, while the top edge is about 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) away from it. I want the picture to sit flush against the wall. I have tried adjusting the position of the wire but haven’t found a good solution.

Does anyone here know this problem with hanging Ribba frames and can offer a recommendation?

Kind regards

Oh dear.. You need to tension the wire almost completely flat against the back and clamp the two metal parts roughly in the upper third.. then fiddle a bit while hanging it up..

Even easier is to skip the wire and hang just the top edge on TWO nails.

Hello everyone!

I ended up here by chance through Google... I already have a 50x70 Ribba frame, and I didn’t use wire but attached it directly to the frame with a nail. That still works well here because the weight isn’t high and the frame is stable.

Now I’ve bought a 70x100 Ribba frame, and I’m not really confident about using wire. Would anyone hang such a frame on a single nail? Somehow, I feel a bit old-fashioned when it comes to hanging picture frames. I still expect to find a hook on the back where I can hang the nail. I definitely don’t want to screw anything in, etc.

I don’t want to make it more complicated than it is, but I can understand that someone might have trouble hanging the Ribba frame or at least with the planning beforehand.

Thanks for the answers!
