could it be that you didn’t maintain the 60 mm (2.4 inches) gap? Because of that, the drill holes are too far back, and the rail can’t point downwards. Actually, you just need to slide the rail in, not turn it downward.

I have exactly the same problem!
Thanks, Mav, that could be a possible cause, but I have the version where the holes are already there. You really have to bend the rail quite a bit, and even then, it still doesn’t sit flush against the side walls. Or is it supposed to be like that?
I just spoke with an Ikea employee who said that you should actually be able to simply click it in from the top so that the rail lies flush both on the top and the front... strange

zeitgeist24 Feb 2011 19:43That is why corresponding clips are screwed onto the inside top of the cabinet to secure the rail at a 90-degree angle.
Tip: Only lightly screw the clips on the cabinet top, place the rail, firmly screw the lower clips, and only then tighten the upper clips securely.
