I want to switch from hinged doors to sliding doors. I would like doors in birch, but since these are no longer sold, I found Paxtüren doors online (1 birch door - 1 mirror). According to the listing, they are 2 x 2 m (6 ft 7 in x 6 ft 7 in) in size. Can I normally mount these doors on my two 100 x 201 cm (39 in x 79 in) frames? Do you still know these doors? I believe they have been out of the product range for quite some time. What about the soft-close mechanisms?

Hello, these are the first Pax Malm doors, about 10 years old. They are constructed differently from the doors currently sold. The doors have rollers mounted at the bottom, which they run on. Replacement parts for broken rollers have been sought several times. Ikea does not offer any spare parts for them. The doors cannot be soft-closed.

So would you rather advise against a purchase?

I’m not sure if the rollers are more durable than the ones mentioned, but I would prefer to buy new ones.

But there is no more Pax Birch in the range, or am I mistaken?
I am from Austria.

We still have them here. Do you live far from the border?
