ᐅ Ikea Lindmon Assembly Instructions for Venetian Blind Slats

Hello dear forum,

I am a proud new owner of the Lindmon jalousie (140/255) and have finally mounted it on the wall – but I’m completely baffled about how to lower the slats.

I already feel a bit foolish – but is there some kind of lock or catch that I haven’t removed yet?!?
Just pulling the cables back and forth doesn’t do anything at all.

It’s probably really simple – but I just can’t figure it out.

You need to pull the cord slightly to the right, and then it will unwind on its own, but only if you keep holding the tape further to the right; otherwise, it will lock again. If you look at the slot on top where the cord goes in, you can see a spool with many teeth. It looks like a gear in width. That is the brake mechanism, at least that's how I remember it. If it gets completely stuck, you can use a screwdriver to push the gear upwards. That will release it again.
