Hello IKEA friends,

We are considering purchasing an IKEA HIN4T induction cooktop.

We noticed that the cooktops on display do not match the ones being sold. This means the cooktops in the showroom are still the old HB14 models with 6 kW power and different mounting, as well as a Schott Ceran label. The revision number is 3.1, which the salesperson only told us after we discovered it ourselves.
The HIN4T has different mounting and no longer has a label on the cooktop surface. The mountings have also been changed. Additionally, the unit now shows 7 kW power and a different revision number 1.0.

The cooktop makes quite a cracking noise on levels 1-5 on the booster zones. From level 6 upwards, there is no more cracking. It is often claimed that this noise is caused by the pots.

The kitchen advisor at IKEA Hanau recommended that we choose the HIN-F-4T, saying it is much quieter and of better quality.

We are curious about your experiences with these cooktops.

The HIN4T is offered for an amazing 299 euros.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

By the way, at the end of January, the HIN-F-4T including pots from the 365 series is supposedly being offered for 449 euros.

Hello Pappl!
How do the FRAMID HINF4S, HINF4T & NUTID HIN4T differ, apart from the size? They all have induction. In the kitchen planner and on Ikea.at, the description page shows no difference except for the total wattage (but the new HIN4T is also supposed to have 7000W). 😕

For the models you asked about, the power levels of the individual cooking zones vary. On the Ikea overview page for cooktops, hover over each device and tick the box for Compare. Do this for all desired models. Then click on “Show comparison” at the top. On the new page, the devices will be displayed side by side, and further down you will find the different power ratings of the individual cooking zones listed.
Does the 78cm (31 inches) FRAMTID HIN4S fit under a 60cm (24 inches) base cabinet? To the left and right of the cooktop there would again be pull-out cabinets with 3 drawers. Unfortunately, an 80cm (31.5 inches) base cabinet is not possible.

I think as long as you maintain the required clearance distances at the back, front, left, right, and below, and cut the cabinet walls accordingly, it should be feasible. However, you will likely lose one pull-out on each side, and also have to forego the top drawer/pull-out in the middle. You might be able to compensate with a thicker or higher-mounted countertop to create the necessary ventilation space under the cooktop.

Let us know how you manage it. Good luck. fotokatze

Framtid HINF4T has what AEG calls Maxisense, but the inconvenient +/- controls. FRAMTID HINF4S is operated with a slider that allows direct control of the power levels. AEG refers to this as DirekTouch.
