Hello,
I’m currently assembling the Pax and have a question regarding the cam screws 113434. I have the issue that although the cam engages the dowel and pulls the boards together, the cam screw (the small round piece with the + and -) does not fit tightly within the recessed area. I can turn it back quite easily. From what I remember, it used to be different—these cam screws always used to fit very tightly. Or am I mistaken and is it normal that you can turn them back to the left fairly easily, meaning they have some play?

Hello,
“Relatively easy” is a rather subjective term.
The cam locks are not very tight, but also not loose enough to be easily turned, for example with a fingernail. In the end, they should click in slightly, which you can best feel when opening them again.
They can be too loose if the dowel is too long or if the hole for the cam lock was drilled with a distance less than 34 cm (13.4 inches) from the edge of the board to the center of the hole.

Hello,
thank you for the helpful answer. I have now been to Ikea and it turned out that the recesses in the shelves were slightly too large, so the cam screws could not hold properly. Problem solved.
