Two weeks ago, I bought a Billy shelving unit with Valbo glass doors. Unfortunately, all the fittings and hinges were missing on both doors. After inquiring, the spare parts were ordered immediately (not available in the store) and sent by mail. The hinges that were delivered matched the manual, but the fittings did not – they could NOT be connected to the hinges so that they would click together. I called again, received another delivery, but today got the same incorrect fittings. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do now? I also chatted with a consultant who forwarded my issue with photos to the furniture store. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
To explain more precisely, it concerns spare part 115914, which in the manual clearly shows a rectangular recess at the rear end, into which a “nipple” of the hinge (correctly delivered) 115913 is supposed to snap. However, the delivered part has a large round recess and additionally a hole at the top (which I don’t think is a problem). Due to the enlarged recess, the two parts cannot be connected.

koaladani10 May 2013 19:51Hello! I found out that holes needed for snapping the parts together are also missing. Many thanks for the tip about the mounting plates 115920. I just ordered 6 pcs. from Ikea. Now we have to wait another week, then we’ll see what’s next...

The delivered board is 42mm (1.65 inches), cut down to 38mm (1.5 inches).

koaladani17 May 2013 19:35Hello! The fittings have arrived and luckily fit. We would have had to drill again otherwise, but we solved the problem by using shortened 5mm (0.2 inch) dowels. Many thanks for the tip about the other mounting plates!!
