Hello everyone, I have some unsightly cup marks on my Kallax shelves that don’t come off with normal wiping. Since the surface is melamine-coated, I don’t want to try anything harsh or use sandpaper, as I don’t want to cause any damage. What gentle but effective methods do you know to remove these round stains from coffee cups or similar from Kallax shelves? Are there any home remedies or special products that work well without damaging the surface? Thanks a lot for your tips!

Cup marks often result from grease or water stains, which combined with heat can slightly damage or discolor the surface coating. Very well observed. The problem is usually slight heat damage combined with a ring of moisture. Therefore, I would advise against using home remedies like vinegar, as they can damage the coating.
My tip: Use a mild melamine sponge with light pressure and test it on an inconspicuous area first. If that doesn’t help, try applying a drop of colorless dish soap on a microfiber cloth and gently rubbing the spot. It is important to wipe the area dry afterward to prevent new moisture from seeping in.
