Hello everyone, I have an IKEA Hemnes piece of furniture at home. I’m not exactly sure about the surface treatment, but it is painted white and quite sensitive to water and stronger cleaning agents. My specific question is: How can I gently clean stains on the Hemnes without damaging the surface or causing dull spots? I’m particularly interested in knowing which cleaning products and methods have proven effective for removing common stains, such as coffee, grease, or ink from pens. Hey declanfra, don’t worry! Your furniture usually looks more damaged than it actually is. 😊 For ink stains, you can try gently using a damp sponge with some toothpaste (not gel toothpaste!). This worked wonders for me without damaging the finish! Very important: wipe immediately with a damp cloth afterwards, otherwise a haze can form. Give it a try—I really find it great for restoring old stains!
