Hello,
we have chosen laminate flooring for our upper floor with a length of 1.84m (6 feet) and a width of 20cm (8 inches). It has a plank look with a V4 groove.
Our room measures 4.30m by 3.54m (14 feet by 11.6 feet). On one long side, there is a two-meter (6.5 feet) wide window wall. I am now concerned that such long panels might not look right in this room. If I lay them parallel to the incoming light, not even two planks fit in one row.

Is my impression correct?

Hard to say without a picture. But you can try laying it out as you imagine, and if it doesn’t look right at all, you can consider something else.
