Hello everyone, I am currently planning the installation of an IKEA Metod kitchen, including built-in appliances such as the stove, oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and refrigerator. My main question is how to proceed systematically and correctly during the installation to avoid potential problems later on. Specifically, I am interested in aspects such as the proper assembly of the base cabinets, the precise positioning and mounting of the wall cabinets, the safe integration of the electrical appliances (especially regarding power and water connections), as well as tips for fine-tuning the fronts and doors. It is particularly important for me to know the recommended order of installation, the essential tools required, and what to watch out for to prevent both functional and aesthetic issues. I would greatly appreciate any helpful advice based on experience, especially concerning the handling of the built-in appliances in connection with the Metod system.

When installing the dishwasher, make sure the water and power connections are easily accessibleI always wonder if this is overrated. Sure, it makes sense in theory, but in practice, you set up the kitchen once and it runs for 10 years. Whether you can easily access the connection today or not – is that really so important?
You should also approach this topic calmly and not unnecessarily increase the effort during installation. What matters is that everything is stable and looks good.

Another tip: During installation, it’s beneficial to work with a second person. Each step should be checked with a level before final tightening to avoid problems with assembly and adjustment later on.
