Hello everyone, I’m facing the challenge of leveling an IKEA Malm chest of drawers perfectly. Unfortunately, the floors in our room are not completely even, and the chest doesn’t have height-adjustable feet. I want to avoid it wobbling or appearing crooked—especially since it becomes noticeable when placing a lamp or decoration on top. Are there any proven methods to accurately level the Malm using simple means? Thanks for any tips!

Are they really recommended? Couldn’t they affect the stability of the dresser in the long term? In my opinion, adjustable feet only make sense if the floor is very uneven and other simple solutions fail. It is important to ensure that the feet are wide enough and have a non-slip surface to guarantee stability. Without proper installation, problems can indeed occur.
For a quick and simple solution: furniture wedges made of wood or plastic are great. Especially the small, angled wedges can be placed under a leg of the dresser – this allows you to precisely adjust height differences. The wedges are inexpensive, easy to obtain, and removable without leaving any residue.
Thank you for the many helpful tips, especially the suggestion with the wooden wedges and adjustable furniture feet sounds interesting. I will first use a spirit level to mark the unevenness and then try small wooden wedges. If that is not stable enough, I will look into adjustable furniture feet. It’s great that long-term stability was also pointed out here; to be honest, I hadn’t really considered that before. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I get started.
