Hello everyone,

I am currently planning to install IKEA Metod cabinets in my attic, where we have a pronounced sloping ceiling. My question is: How can IKEA Metod cabinets be installed quickly and securely on sloped walls?

Specifically, I am interested in what preparations should be made to ensure the cabinets are mounted securely and fit well despite the angled walls, which fixing methods or tools you would recommend, and if there are any special tricks to make adjusting the cabinet side panels to the slope easier.

It would also be helpful to know how to save time without compromising the safety of the installation – because mounting cabinets on sloped ceilings seems more challenging than on regular walls.

Thanks for your tips!

Imprecise measurement of the slope leads to uneven installations.

This is an important point. Additionally, I recommend performing all cutting and drilling work on a single cabinet part as a test before the final assembly.

I also used wooden wedges to fill small gaps between the slope and the cabinet

This method ensures that the cabinet not only fits visually but also remains structurally stable.

One last tip: Clamps help hold the cabinets in position during installation—especially on uneven surfaces.
