Hello everyone,
I am currently looking into how to customize my Ikea Besta drawers with internal dividers to optimize them for different uses. I am particularly interested in ways to flexibly organize the existing drawer sizes and shapes to store small items neatly and keep them easily accessible. Are there any proven solutions for custom-made internal dividers that are easy to adjust or even make yourself? Which materials and systems work well with the Besta drawer system?
Perhaps someone here has experience with their own dividers or can offer tips for practical and durable solutions.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Magnetic systems are usually more suitable for light-duty applications – for tools and craft items, the holding power might be too weak.I think too much emphasis is placed on conventional solutions here. Why not try a completely different approach? Storage bins are great basic units – but let’s not limit ourselves to standard interior dividers!
Why not simply integrate magnetic plates into the drawers and attach strong magnets to tools and craft supplies? This way, everything would hold securely, and items could be repositioned quickly.
In addition, modular systems often feel too rigid, in my opinion. A flexible combination of custom-made wooden units and creative holders (including Velcro or elastic straps) offers much more room for personalized organization. I believe this is tried too rarely.
So: Who says Ikea systems always have to work with standardized compartments? We should really exploit the potential of materials and modern fastening methods.
