A week ago, we spilled a bottle of salad dressing on our 50-year-old sealed parquet floor. Although no stains were initially visible, after a few days we noticed that the oil had penetrated into the gaps and thus into the wood fibers.

Now we are a bit unsure how to clean these grease stains. One idea is to use pipe clay, which would "absorb" the grease. Does anyone have experience with this or any other suggestions? Many thanks!

Hello Pechvogel,
Using pipe clay (kaolin or also white clay) could work, but this stain removal method is mainly effective when the fresh stain is treated immediately.
With sealed wooden floors, there is the additional issue that dirt can penetrate into the wood through the old, probably cracked sealant (aided by pressure from walking or liquids seeping in), but it is not certain that it will be drawn out the same way.
Just give it a try; the method itself has been proven effective.
