I have the following problem:
Currently, there is a classic garden fence with a double-wing gate (total width about 4m (13 feet)) installed.
I want to automate it but am not allowed to replace it with a modern sliding gate or similar due to building regulations / planning permission restrictions. (That would require a complete redesign of the driveway and ceding additional land to the municipality.)
I sketched a DIY solution with push rods and cables controlled by two motors, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had to solve this kind of problem.
Maybe there is an off-the-shelf solution available.

I didn’t look it up, but keep in mind that the drive system is exposed to wind and weather and is expected to last several years. I don’t think it makes sense to choose the cheapest option.
At least for garage door openers, you also need to consider how much force is required. I believe it’s similar with swing gate openers.
