Hello everyone,

In our planning, we simply cannot avoid having our garage height exceed 3 meters (10 feet) to have level access to the house.

If I assume the garage is 2.9 meters (9.5 feet) high (is that realistic?), and we add about 1.5 meters (5 feet) of fill, the total would be 4.4 meters (14.4 feet). On the property side, there is a green strip owned by the municipality.

My question is, is there a way to get such a structure approved? Is it sufficient to get the neighbor’s consent, or what is the legal situation here? This is located in Baden-Württemberg.

I hope you can help.

Thank you.

Hello,

talk to an architect and/or a licensed surveyor locally, this is a standard case for them. They can explain to you fairly quickly whether it is subject to building permit / planning permission.
