Hello dear forum members,

we need a garage door for our double garage. We have received three quotes. The most expensive one is from Hörmann, and the other two are cheaper and almost the same price. These are doors from ConDoor and Alutech.

Does anyone have experience with doors from ConDoor or Alutech?

Are the other doors insulated like the LPU42?

I can only recommend the Hörmann door (LPU 42).

Width is 525 cm (210 inches), height 230 cm (91 inches), lintel height 18 cm (7 inches).

The gate width of 525 cm (210 inches) is a special size for Hörmann; the standard sizes would be 500 cm (197 inches) or 550 cm (217 inches), but unfortunately not 525 cm (210 inches).

For ConDoor and Alutech, there apparently are no standard or special sizes.

The gate from Alutech is also insulated.
U-value: 1.06 W/(m²K) (0.19 Btu/(ft²·h·°F)).

I cannot find any information about this in the ConDoor brochure.

Then I would call condor and ask if it is insulated. The overall figures actually diverge even more, so the Hörmann should last 15 years instead of 10....Karsten

ConDoor has responded; the U-value is 1.35.

How would you decide? Which garage door would you choose?
