Hello everyone,
I’m starting to think about building a garage. Ideally, it would be a roughly 6m x 6m (20ft x 20ft) double garage.
I would prefer a concrete garage, but that will be difficult due to delivery access and the ground’s load-bearing capacity.
Spending almost $10,000 on a steel garage seems quite expensive to me, and I’m not really a fan of steel garages anyway.
Now I’ve come across wooden garage kits. Since I like to take on some of the work myself, I’d like to try building one of those.
Has anyone had experience with this? How “thin” or sturdy are these kits, and do they end up feeling more like a carport? Is it better to buy a complete kit or build something entirely from scratch? Does anyone have building guides?
I might also add some insulation and install additional sheathing panels on the inside (e.g., OSB).
Best regards
