daytonaHello everyone,
Does anyone have experience using gabions as wall cladding?
My idea is to cover a typical concrete block wall (about 1 meter (3 ft) high and 17 meters (56 ft) long) with a slim gabion facing, around 15–20 centimeters (6–8 inches) thick, to improve its appearance.
I'm particularly interested in questions around how to fix the gabion mats, whether to use a back or side wall, and any other challenges you might have encountered.
Thanks and best regards.

I saw something like this in a large scale a few weeks ago: The NaturBornholm Museum has a complete multi-story facade in this style (just search for “NaturBornholm” and view the images).
So it seems to work and is feasible, although with buildings like these, the cost issue is usually less urgent.

Thank you very much. Yes, it does seem to be fashionable or at least not uncommon. I also found pictures online, but unfortunately, I am missing the specific technical implementation or complete offers for the accessories.
My idea: to screw the spacers directly into the wall using eye bolts. Furthermore, it is crucial for me to decide whether I need 7-ton gabion stones or only 3-ton stones, and thus have to install (store, transport) accordingly...
