Hello everyone,

I would like to know if anyone can recommend freeware for floor plan design. I have found some online, but I would like to hear if anyone has had good or bad experiences with any freeware. I am also interested in whether these programs are easy to use for beginners (a beginner is someone who is comfortable with Windows, Microsoft Office, etc., but has no experience with specialized design software).

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Best regards

This question has been discussed extensively before, with many suggestions ranging from free options to affordable and professional (price) ones.

I personally use Sweet Home 3D, but I purchased the extension pack via Amazon for 15€ (about $16). However, the free version is perfectly sufficient for basic floor plan design.

I also use Sweet Home 3D and am quite satisfied with it. By now, it is possible to add multiple floors.

The rendered walkthrough of the property is a particularly appealing feature. Although this requires a fairly powerful computer and a significant amount of time to generate a video in acceptable/good quality. Aside from the importance of supporting open-source developers, it is not necessary to purchase the premium version. There are thousands of models and pieces of furniture freely available.

I also use Home Sweet 3D. I bought the version from Amazon, but then downloaded a huge number of models. I also like that you can virtually walk through everything in 3D.

I can gladly send you one or two links to my videos via private message.
