Would you prefer a front door that is elevated with steps over a ground-level front door with a facade gutter? I am thinking about heavy rain. We are planning our single-family house in an area where flooding is less likely but not impossible. On the other hand, I assume that facade gutters are usually installed in other parts of the house as well, right? Then it would just be one gutter among many.
In our extended neighborhood, there is a house that is basically single-story, but the entire house sits on a hill. So during heavy rain, it probably resembles a small island. And yet, there are no steps. I find that quite interesting. I would consider it too, but on the entrance side, I don’t have enough space for that.

Even an unfavorable wind situation with a normal amount of rain can put the corresponding facade, including the entrance, under strain. When the stuff splashes against the front door...
Make a gutter... everything else is half-baked nonsense.
