Hello, I am looking for an exterior wall light that really makes an impression.
We have two tall brick gables (6.3 m (20.7 feet)) that I would like to illuminate permanently at night.
Preferably with a spotlight or something similar. I recently drove through a new housing development and honestly didn’t find anything attractive.
Almost all have these recessed lights in the eaves or some kind of €20 hardware store lamp.
Maybe someone can recommend other lights, preferably with pictures.
The electrician is pressing and wants to know at what height the cables should be installed.
Many thanks.

The presence of spiders seems to depend largely on the surroundings and the lighting. When everything is well-lit and in urban areas, the insects tend to spread out and are generally less noticeable. In rural areas, where the only nighttime light source is outside: good luck 🙂
I don’t really understand the trend of lighting up an entire house. Having lights at the entrance, the terrace, and perhaps spotlights with motion sensors to deter unwanted visitors is reasonable, but a sort of “light phallus” on the gable or all around? On prominent city buildings like castles, town halls, or beautiful historic villas, that can look impressive, but on a plain white-rendered single-family house, I find it unsettling.
