Hello everyone,
we are currently building our single-family house in Mahlow and have to accept some scheduling delays from the construction company. The shell including the roof structure is already completed, and we are waiting for windows and doors.
Additionally, the current situation is affecting progress.
I would appreciate being able to draw on your experiences and knowledge.
The foundation was laid on August 5, 2019. Completion is planned after 12 months. To be honest, I don’t see myself living in the house by August 2020.

Options: Set deadlines, take matters into your own hands
Wild idea: Place an ad to find someone to finish the house.

Thank you very much in advance.

Good luck

What do you mean by completion? Have you defined it? Are you building turnkey? Do you have a construction schedule and a payment plan?
Turnkey, yes. There is no construction schedule. The payment plan is only defined in that invoices are issued in stages, for example, a payment is due when the foundation slab is completed, and so on.

You currently cannot do anything. Breach of contract is out of the question. Whether you will be able to get other craftsmen is uncertain. Just plan for an additional 3 or 6 months. We all deal with this, whether in house construction, school, family visits, or vacations. Address the problem reasonably on the construction site. Do not be unreasonable.
