Hello everyone,

The power cable for the lighting of our patio roof comes out of a joint in the brickwork. Unfortunately, it now needs to be moved up by one course of bricks because otherwise it wouldn’t be covered by the roof.

Is it safe to carefully scrape out some of the mortar used for the bricklaying and pull the cable up through it?

What can I use to refill the open joint afterwards without mixing anything? Is there a product available in a tube? Some kind of repair paste or similar?

The house hasn’t been pointed yet!

Simply leave it as an open joint and have it grouted later.

The joints will only be sealed in spring. I am worried that water might penetrate the masonry in the meantime.

I have already seen that Fischer offers repair mortar. I will use that.
