What are the actual advantages of decentralized units with two smaller fans in one duct compared to the traditional models with one larger fan?
I can't seem to find any concrete information on this. Are these used in specific situations?

However, I have never actually seen that in practice.Because they are unnecessary niche products. There is no market for them.Basically, the duct is divided in the middle (at least, that’s how I understand it). On one side, there is a small fan, and on the other side, another one. They run in opposite directions: one pushes air in, while the other pushes air out.
From my understanding, this should be less efficient than a single larger fan that reverses direction after a certain period. But there must be a reason for it, so that’s why I’m asking. Maybe it eliminates the need for a second fan at the other end of the room?
For example, there is the ego model from Lunos, but I have also seen this design from other manufacturers.

Is there, for example, the Lunos ego, which is designed as a ventilation unit for bathrooms and kitchens.

Maybe it could replace having two fans at opposite ends of the room? No. Why? The Lunos ego also operates in reverse mode. Additionally, it is reportedly very loud and inefficient due to the small fans (this is based on experiences found online—including here in the forum).

why does it exist then?To sell something really special with a unique selling point...You can also buy quadruple-glazed windows, which offer a slight improvement in thermal insulation, but come with many disadvantages. Those can also be sold well and at a high price. Or you can buy super sports cars – advantages of this type of vehicle? Or 8K TVs. And so on.
