Hello!

I urgently need some other opinions because I’m not sure what we should do!

We built our house with Poroton bricks, so the load-bearing walls are made of these, but all other walls were done as drywall. The solid walls have now been plastered, and the drywall has been skim-coated. Since we only want to paint the interior walls, I’m worried that the difference will be visible. Our builder says I can just paint without any problem, but I’m a complete construction novice!

Is that really the case, or would it be better to plaster all the walls?

I really have no idea!

Thanks for your answers

Best regards, Theresa

If you want to cover the drywall with wallpaper, priming is enough and you can start right away.

If you want to paint, from my experience, it depends on how "sensitive" you are and how well the drywall installers finished the joints 😉
