Hello,
we have an issue with waterlogging in our garden.
There is approximately 50cm (20 inches) of topsoil, followed by a clay layer about 1.5m to 1.7m (5 to 5.5 feet) thick.
We thought about installing drainage pipes to permanently solve the waterlogging problem.
My question is, if we install drainage pipes, are there any disadvantages, or only benefits?
My concerns are whether we would need to water much more in the summer if drainage pipes were installed.
Where should drainage be installed—only under the lawn or also beneath flower beds?
