Hello,

My daughter has big plans, or rather, we are supposed to put these big plans into action. So last week, we bought two rolls of chalkboard film to cover a wall in her room. A huge chalkboard in the room seems to be a new trend among kids.

Unfortunately, the chalkboard film turned out to be a complete failure because it didn’t stick to the surface and came off entirely after just a few hours. Now we are considering using chalkboard paint instead... however, we have no experience with it and would like to know which surfaces chalkboard paint can be applied to?

Chalkboard Paint

Clean the surface thoroughly to remove all loose and non-load-bearing components and stabilize it, preferably using a primer. If the surface is not smooth and even, fill and sand it carefully, then prime again with primer. Apply the chalkboard paint multiple times according to the manufacturer’s instructions until a homogeneous surface is achieved.
