Bmich@elHello,
we want to build a KFW 55 prefabricated house. According to the manufacturer, we are not allowed to do the electrical work ourselves due to airtightness, documentation, and other reasons.
Our sales representative said it would be no problem to do everything ourselves. However, the factory denies this for the reasons mentioned above.
Can anyone share similar experiences?
Thank you.

There are many different construction methods—also within the prefab house sector. And yes, it can definitely be a real challenge to make a house airtight if you want to do the electrical work yourself—especially if there is no installation cavity or service zone where all the wiring can run. So, what is possible depends on the wall structure.
What the seller says doesn’t matter at all—you don’t have a contract with them for that part of the house. Only what is written in the contract with the manufacturer counts.
