ᐅ Do Oventrop press fittings and pipes need to be from the same brand?

I still have a few meters of Oventrop multilayer composite pipe Copipe 16 x 2.0 in my basement.
Unfortunately, there are hardly any Oventrop press fittings available anymore.
A friend told me that you are only allowed to use Oventrop fittings with the Oventrop composite pipes.
Is that really the case? Does anyone have experience with this?
