ᐅ Decorative sleeves (interior doors, hinges)

Hello,

does anyone have experience with decorative sleeves on the hinges of interior doors?

Since I want brass door handles that are a bit unusual, and there seem to be no brass hinges available (at least not from my company’s supplier), I am supposed to get brass decorative sleeves to make the hinges visually match the handles.

It was described as unproblematic, but now I have some doubts.
I wish I could meet someone here who knows about this.

It's really very simple. These are thin metal sleeves that are simply slipped over the straps of the door leaf. I used them often during my training.

Hello @blockhauspower. By very simple, do you mean simple = cheap = unattractive = less durable? Or do you mean simple = straightforward = hassle-free = good?

I took a look. There are, of course, brass door hinges that can be easily replaced with others. Simply unscrew them from the door leaf and the hex screws on the frame.

Yes, thank you. I will soon receive an initial quote, and I will first review it in terms of price. Then I will request another one including the brass hinges and possibly better door handles, and then I can decide based on the additional cost.

So far, the supplier has only sent me a door handle catalog, from which I have selected two specific handles. I still need to find out whether the brass is solid, plated, or just brass-colored. In my opinion, this is not clearly stated in the catalogs (and I have already looked at several similar product lists online). I mentioned this to the supplier, and he said he experiences the same and needs to inquire himself... Strange world. 🤨 Is this totally irrelevant to everyone else except me? When it comes to furniture, I also know if it is printed, veneered, or solid wood.
