Hello,

we are currently building a prefabricated house using timber frame construction and are about to start the drywall finishing and painting work. We are familiar with the theory so far. Aluminum corner protection strips will be installed on corners and window reveals.

Is edge protection also required on door reveals and under a windowsill or kitchen countertop? If so, which type is recommended?

Thank you 🙂

The door reveals are framed by the door casings, and below the windowsill, I am more concerned about the offset of the panels.

If no door frame or door is to be installed later in the door reveal, then yes.

If it is basically just used as a passageway (e.g., to a dressing room).
