my husband and I are very interested in the container home concept. Does anyone here have experience with it? How durable is such a house? What are the pros and cons? You can find quite a bit about it online, but maybe someone can share their personal experience.

Under that term, there have been various modular housing concepts for at least 100 years (young couples starting small, later adding a child’s room, eventually expanding to two stories with a conservatory, and so on); as well as space modules made from 40-foot (12-meter) containers or similar units. Last year, someone in this forum mentioned a model by an Austrian provider who builds single-family homes of one or two stories from container modules joined together, sometimes without interior walls between them. If I remember correctly, that was Combi-Box, but today the forum search is not cooperating for me :-(
