ᐅ Obtained a Soil Report Quote – Are the Costs Realistic?

I am currently gathering several quotes for a geotechnical soil investigation.
In the new development area, the municipality has already conducted a report, but of course, only for the roads (for infrastructure purposes).

We plan to build without a basement, but the municipal report contains the following:
"The groundwater levels ranged between 2.40 m and 1.40 m below the ground surface (site surface), corresponding to 136.47 m above sea level and [I]136.42 m above sea level.

The deeper subsurface mainly consists of fine sands, initially deposited under marine, later limnic-fluvial conditions.

Profiles from two groundwater measurement points located approximately 100 m west and northwest of the planned area show the upper edge of the low-permeability layer at about 7 m below ground."

I have, of course, contacted this company directly since they already conducted a report in the area, to find out how much it would cost to carry out an investigation on our property as well. Honestly, I find the offer quite expensive and would appreciate your opinions.

The company offers the following:
Carrying out 2 dynamic cone penetration tests according to DIN standards down to an approximate probing depth of 5 m to determine the density of the soil.
2 small dynamic boreholes, 2 dynamic cone penetration tests
Surveying of the investigation points for location and elevation
Report preparation including description of the site, soil parameters (unit weight, angle of internal friction, cohesion, modulus of elasticity, permeability, soil group, soil classification, soil type, frost susceptibility, seismic hazard)
Statements on the infiltration capacity of the existing soil and the groundwater situation will be made. The soil types encountered will be classified into homogeneous zones.
Assessment of load-bearing capacity as well as notes and recommendations regarding foundation and construction execution.

The total cost is about 1600 euros, excluding chemical laboratory testing, since soil removal may not be necessary, and if it is, samples will be stored and tested later.

It’s quite reasonable; I paid 600 euros for the same service. But as usual, it probably varies depending on the region. I would simply get three more quotes for comparison.

I have another offer as well, which is around 1500 euros, so it’s similar.

Ne is a locally based office.
Find a smaller company, ask the neighbors who handled it for them.

I find it too expensive if the laboratory is not included. With the laboratory, it is still somewhat acceptable in my opinion.

Doesn't sound like a bargain. We paid around 700 EUR for the same service.
