Hello everyone,
I was actually really looking forward to the introduction of the Metod system because of the better use of storage space and flexibility. Unfortunately, the 3D online planner is nowhere near as flexible as Metod is supposed to be. Or maybe I’m just too inexperienced to operate it. In any case, I wanted to try out a few things that should be possible in theory. For example, wall cabinets with a combination of glass display doors and regular doors, or doors that span more than one carcass. Even when selecting a tall cabinet, dozens of door layout options are listed, but not the ones I have in mind. And I couldn’t find any way to place an empty carcass first and then add the doors afterward. If anyone knows how this works, I would appreciate a tip.
To my dismay, I also found that almost all the fronts I was considering have disappeared with the Metod launch. For instance, the category for glass display doors (now called Jutis) no longer includes clear glass or white opaque options—only frosted and smoked glass remain. Black fronts are now only available with a wood effect (yuck), but no longer in matte or high gloss. The red matte special front Flädie looks nice, but it is only available in a few door sizes (not for drawers). And I find the other two special fronts just awful anyway.
In the end, I will probably go for the cheapest white Häggeby front and try to spruce it up myself with paint or foil. (Just for the upper cabinets, where the surface is not exposed to much wear.)
So, that was my frustration post. I just had to get it off my chest.
