Hello,

I have a friend who said he controls his garden irrigation from his computer. Is that possible, or was he just kidding?

That’s possible – it’s usually done for large-scale systems, but you can also install it in your own garden. It’s a bit expensive, but if you care about those kinds of details... 😀;)

Really, is that actually possible? I find that a bit strange, especially as someone who’s not familiar with computers.

What kind of costs should I expect for that? I actually find it pretty cool if I can control it a bit by time, or it’s just fun to press a button and have the water turn on 😀 😀 😀 😕

There are profile solutions that can be quite expensive, but if you have some knowledge, you can also make something yourself. It’s apparently not that difficult.

Actually, you only need a relay board for your PC and an electric valve. Then you control the valve through the PC, and that's it. But if you need a specific control system, you will probably need programming skills to implement it.
