Hello dear forum members,
during today’s inspection of the shell construction, it became apparent that the masons were sloppy and left some gaps between the individual Poroton bricks in the exterior wall, ranging from 2 to 5 centimeters wide (about 1 to 2 inches) – see attached pictures. I’m concerned that simply filling these gaps with mortar might cause thermal bridges and lead to mold problems.

What is the best way for the masons to properly close such gaps to minimize future damage?
Does anyone have experience with this?

Thank you very much for your advice, Hans.

Uncomplete brick wall made of light brown perforated bricks, narrow joints; plastic film on the right.

Hand inserting finger through narrow gap between pink concrete blocks, view into darkness behind.

This topic has come up here before; I’m quite sure the previous answer was "thermal mortar" suitable for the brick (system).

These (not yet sealed here – so-called “poor workmanship pockets”) are not caused by carelessness of the masons, but by an indifferent attitude of the planners toward the building tolerance.
