Hello!

I recently saw a report about coconut coir and was impressed. It seems like a real alternative to potting soil, if I understood correctly. My wife would also be able to carry it without any problems.

Now, I would like to hear from you first: does anyone have experience with it and can share some insights? Is it really better than potting soil? Where do you use it?

Hopefully, someone can give me some advice!
Best regards,

Hello Todde, yes, women can carry it better! I have been using them for years for buckets, planters, and pots. I find that they retain moisture better and longer. You (women) always have them quickly at hand because they can be stored easily without taking up much space.

Hello, our house!
That sounds great! Are there any tips for using it? I looked it up and found several differences in a shop, such as coins, blocks, and bags. Which one do I need to choose? Aren’t they all the same?

Best regards,
todde.

Hello todde, so far I have only used the blocks. An old bucket, add water (about 4 liters (1 gallon), I always use slightly warm water to speed up the process), put the block in, and wait. It’s better to use a little less water than too much! You can tell when the soil is "ready," and then you can get started. I don’t think there are any differences, just in the shape!

Have fun and good luck with your gardening,

Hello,
coconut coir is a growing medium; it does not contain any fertilizer!
