Hello everyone,
we are currently deciding on our choice of facing bricks.
The options are Olfry Glasgow Smooth and Wienerberger Dresden.
Which one would you recommend in terms of appearance and quality?
Thank you in advance!

Do you know which trend is emerging? I ask because I’m very interested and would also like to know which media sources you get your information from. From no media at all (I wouldn’t even know which media would cover something like this, apart from one’s own eyes and ears) but from observing about 200 properties being built over several years in my own development area, as well as from talking to, for example, contractors I work with and other nearby construction sites.
For example, our own window manufacturer used to offer RAL 7016 as a discounted color during our project, but no longer does because demand has decreased. He notices more price pressure due to overall high construction costs and is now selling more white windows made of uPVC and recently even white window cladding, which looks more upscale. He also does aluminum windows, but these consistently only make up about 10% of inquiries since they cost roughly 50% more.

I won’t name a manufacturer, but I have learned that complaints often occur... with engobe coatings. Of course. This is inherently the case whenever surface colorings are applied in shades that differ significantly from the base color. Even minor scuffing during transport can result in an appearance that justifies complaints. However, this issue is made worse when production is careless—especially where temperatures fluctuate widely during the manufacturing process, and/or when transport and storage before installation are poorly integrated into quality control. This means part of the issue is inherent, and part is due to supplier-specific quality standards. Specifically regarding your case, the main advice for “imitators” would be: make sure to know exactly who is responsible for quality in your supply chain, so that the chain does not become a “hot potato” passing along blame.
