I would like to check our roof ventilation. I suspect that it is not functioning properly.
My plan:
I want to place a smoke bomb into the duct leading to our house from the inspection shaft, seal it from behind, and see if smoke comes out through the roof vent.
I am looking for the right product for this. So far, I only find devices that get hot or produce toxic smoke.
What should I be looking for?

In this case, a camera inspection would be the only proper solution.
If the main pipe is even slightly blocked due to standing wastewater, smoke might still pass through. However, the remaining open cross-section may still be insufficient for proper ventilation.
A pipe cleaning company can also document the situation for you to show if there is any problem.
