Hello,

I have a 5x5 Expedit shelf and would like to equip it with Capita brackets. Does anyone have experience with this? I’ve done some research and found pictures where someone attached 3x2 brackets underneath. Would that be too unstable?
Does anyone have any knowledge about this?

Hello
try using Ekby legs; you can screw them firmly to the floor. They look good and are very stable (square profile – not round).
best regards, bergpriv 🙂

I find it a bit unstable because the side panels of the Expedit are hollow inside, and with feet, the load-bearing capacity of the individual surfaces is quite uncertain. Furthermore, it is very wobbly if it is not secured to the wall...

Yes, I also think that is less ideal because most IKEA furniture is made from lightweight wood and is hollow inside. If you drill a hole, it usually breaks out. That’s why kitchen countertops and desk surfaces always come with pre-drilled holes. So, I definitely wouldn’t place it freestanding anymore; at most, I would also screw it to the wall for extra support.
