Our house is designed in a country style, and we are considering enhancing the plastic windows with vertical capitals (decorative profiles) to improve their appearance. However, since we are unsure, we would prefer to order the windows without these details first and see how they look. If we find the windows too plain, we would like to have the decorative profiles added later. My question is: is this possible? Will they hold properly? Or does it have to be better glued at the factory from the start? Best regards, Steffi.

I would only use an internal grille. It is much easier to keep clean.

Hello Robson... in this case, the saying applies: if you want to be beautiful, you have to endure some discomfort... I just find it more attractive with put-on muntins... so I have to deal with the plastering work as well.

Personally, I would only choose internal ones, as I would be far too lazy to clean every corner all the time.

I once read on a homebuilding blog that some people attached them afterward. Search for "Self-adhesive window grids applied afterward – experience report," and you’ll find the report I mean.

Hello wildthing, it’s not about window muntins... those are definitely already there. It’s about decorative moldings/elements (also called capitals) that are glued onto the vertical window muntins. Best regards, Steffi

Ah, okay... I've never heard of that before. Unfortunately, I can't contribute anything on that. Sorry.
