Hello..
Question: Is it acceptable to use calcium silicate blocks (sandlime bricks) outdoors, or is that considered poor construction practice?
Background: I was thinking of installing one layer of calcium silicate blocks on an existing 100cm (39 inch) mineral aggregate foundation to save some concrete work. Now I’m wondering if calcium silicate blocks are even suitable for outdoor use?
I planned to use U-shaped blocks and then protect them with stones as a splash guard.
Regards

Regular sand-lime bricks are not suitable because they are not frost-resistant. Frost-resistant options include clinker bricks or concrete blocks.
