Hello everyone,
Today, we received a preliminary draft of our bungalow from our developer.
Notes:
1. It is an accessible (barrier-free) house.
2. On the south side, an 8-family building (2 full stories) will be constructed, supposedly also accessible for seniors. (Before construction, I will get more information about this, as the neighboring building affects our planning.)
3. The house will be supplied with district heating.
4. The floor area in this draft is 139.69 square meters (1503 square feet) and must not exceed 140 square meters (1507 square feet).
In my opinion, the living room is too small. It might be better to plan an open kitchen or possibly give up the study to get a larger living room.
What do you think of this floor plan? I would appreciate any suggestions and comments.
Best regards

Southwest-west. The sun rises in the east, moves toward the south, sets in the west, and can be seen in the north. This does not apply in Australia. Karsten The matter is clear so far 😉

Regarding the bathtub [...] water flowed back cold and using so much water just for a bath seems a bit wasteful to me, I’m not sure how it is with newer models! Depending on the age of the bathtub, it might not have been insulated. The physical properties of water haven’t changed since well before the Roman Empire, nor has the fact that taking a bath—without having all seven siblings rushing through—is actually quite a luxurious use of water. Much like schnitzel isn’t only for Sundays, strictly speaking.zizzi schrieb:
I agree with you, the hallway is too large As a former civilian service worker for people with severe disabilities, I would say that it’s rare to see such a well-designed floor plan. The planner cannot be blamed that not every plot can have the ideal north-facing street and south-facing garden orientation.Around the bed in Children’s Room 1, I think I can identify the space needed for a pallet truck, which leads me to conclude that the child with a disability using a folding stroller is probably not self-propelling. With an assistant or an electric wheelchair, I don’t see any movement areas that are too large here.
If you are used to looking at floor plans calibrated for households without mobility challenges, a wheelchair-accessible house will inevitably appear somewhat awkwardly proportioned, and you might worry that the rooms—which may seem relatively smaller—are actually too small in absolute terms. But no, everything here is perfectly sized for practical use. And if there were anything to complain about, I’m sure I would have noticed it ;-)
