We are currently building a single-family house in Lower Saxony with a general contractor. Earlier this week, the reinforcing plaster with mesh reinforcement and the finishing coat were applied to the exterior insulation system (EIFS) on the facade. The temperatures were just above freezing.
I only learned that plastering would take place this year when the reinforcing layer was applied. I repeatedly asked whether it was already too cold for this, but this was consistently denied.
Next week, the finishing coat might be applied. Today, I noticed some small bubbles in the plaster so far (see photos). Could these already be defects caused by the low temperatures? Is it even permissible to apply the finishing coat under these conditions? Or am I worrying too much and these isolated bubbles are completely normal?
Maybe someone can provide some information now before I consult the general contractor tomorrow.
Best regards
