Hello, can someone please tell me what this beam (see picture) is and whether it can be removed without any issues?

Attic with wooden beam, ladder, drill, and unfinished floor in shell construction.

Long concrete foundation in the basement area with tools and building components.

Basement floor with old wooden beam, stone wall, and ladder in the background.

Basement room with concrete floor, cracks, and wooden support beams

Thank you!

I can't imagine that it’s just lying around there without a purpose....

I have also seen an attic where a beam was arranged like that. Therefore, I would assume that it has a structural function and cannot simply be removed.
If the beam bothers you, you will need to hire a structural engineer who can assess the situation.

I’m curious about what is in the floor below, especially at the spot where you can see the tenons. Try searching for 'anchor beams'—it looks like something like that. This beam carries the shear forces of the walls below and shouldn’t be removed without careful consideration.

Thanks Mali,
Currently, there is a plastered ceiling below.
The two screws are not visible.
