We are getting a steel enamel bathtub that is to be installed in a polystyrene bath carrier—partly for insulation reasons and partly to reduce noise, as these tubs tend to resonate oddly without a carrier.

This was all coordinated with the plumber, but now he suddenly said he hasn’t installed one of these carriers in two years because some customers (apparently only after 1-2 years) complained that the carrier squeaks.
Great that he always brings up issues like this at the last minute, especially after he already submitted a quote for it.

We don’t actually see a problem here; we could also add felt or some kind of “slip film” (whatever that may be) in addition.

How have you solved this? Does anyone have experience using such a bath carrier? It should be one from Schedel.

Well, if I have water in the shower, it has to go out anyway ^^

OK... so far, I haven’t heard any terrible squeaking issues during the first couple of days. Let’s see how things progress. Thanks so much!
