Hello!

I have heard that top German manufacturers of bathroom fittings (e.g. Grohe, etc.) can be purchased 30% - 50% cheaper in other European countries (e.g. the Netherlands).

Can anyone confirm this or provide more information about this kind of "re-import"?

Thank you and best regards

Hello!

At least buying in the Netherlands offers the opportunity to visit a coffee shop :p.

Otherwise, the "top brand manufacturer" Grohe is heavily discounted at hardware stores, for example Globus, with the 1000 series offered at about 60% off the list price.

I will still check out how the high-end products compare. The specialist retailer wants 1,600 euros (minus 20%) for the Grohe shower bar – I find that a bit excessive.

However, bathtubs are significantly cheaper abroad. My Kaldewei imitation (400 liters (105 gallons) capacity) cost only 880 Deutsche Marks instead of 5,000.

So, keep your eyes open – and enjoy your time in the Netherlands 🙂!
