Hello everyone,

Yesterday, our foundation slab was poured. In the evening, we noticed that the temporary construction power was still not connected because there was apparently an issue with the cable in the sidewalk. Our question is, how did they manage to vibrate the concrete without power? Is there another way to do it, or did they just do it without care?

I would appreciate any advice;)

Or they didn’t vibrate the foundation slab... which is not really a big deal for a slab.
Also experienced: making the concrete flow to fill the form and pumping it slowly...
I didn’t vibrate my slab (private project) either. Strip footings aren’t vibrated anyway.

If the concrete has not been properly "vibrated" (compacted), it is considered to be poorly placed. The purpose of compaction is to create a dense concrete structure and reduce air pockets. Proper compaction is especially crucial for the durability of reinforced concrete (and most foundations and slabs are made of reinforced concrete).
